This factsheet looks at the actions of the Canadian government that led to the Riel Uprising and the Trial of Poundmaker. It looks at the disapperance of the Buffalo at the hands of white settlers and how the government used the plight of the Cree people to bring them to the treaty table. The factsheet also discusses the aftermath of the uprising and finally how in 2019 the Canadian government exonerated Poundmaker.
