This academic poster is a snapshot of settler colonialism, settler ancestry research, the harms of genetic testing and settler appropriation of Indigenous identity, and solidarity. DNA testing and identity appropriation pose threats to de-colonial solidarity, but with Indigenous ancestral research and education of Indigenous resistance, settlers can begin to understand their complicity and grow accountability while promoting Indigenous sovereignty.
